How to Install a Hawking Hi-Gain HWREN1 Wireless-300N Range Extender

A wireless network is only as good as its range. If you have to put your computer right next to the router, you might as well not have a wireless connection at all. But using Hawkin's Hi-Gain HWREN1 Wireless-300N Range Extender, you can boost the range at which you can get online. Setting up the Hawking Wireless Range Extender is a straightforward procedure for anyone familiar with wireless networking.

Attach the power adapter to the HWREN1 Wireless Range Extender. Plug the power adapter into an electrical socket.

Plug the included Ethernet cable into the back of the HWREN1. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the back of your wireless router.

Plug an Ethernet cable into the PC. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the wireless router.

Insert the included installation disc into the PC. The installer will automatically launch. Click "Setup Wizard."

Click the "Search" button. Highlight the HWREN1 from the list. Click "Next."

Enter a name for the HWREN1. Click "Next."

Wait for the Setup Wizard to assign an IP address. Click "Next."

Highlight your wireless connection in the list. Click "Next." Set your security settings for the HWREN1 Wireless Range Extender. These settings must be the same as your wireless router security settings. Click "Next."

Review the settings on the next screen. Click "Set." You may now unplug the Ethernet cable connecting the wireless router to the computer.
