How to Increase the Backlight on Kindle
By Ryan Menezes
The Kindle automatically alters its backlight to suit changing conditions. When a lot of light falls on the screen, the backlight brightens to block reflections. In less light, the backlight dims. If you aren't satisfied with the way your Kindle adapts to changing light, you can increase the strength of its backlight manually. A strong backlight increases the clarity of text, helping you read your Kindle's screen. However, note that bright light taxes your eyes and drains your Kindle's battery.
Tap the settings icon in the Kindle's status bar to open a panel of configuration options.
Select "Brightness" in the panel to display the device's brightness tool.
Touch the brightness slider and drag it to the right to increase the brightness of the Kindle's backlight.
