If you've used your Yahoo Mail account for an extended time, chances are you have let some unread messages slip through the cracks. Although not usually much of an issue due to the service's high limit on message storage, it can be an annoyance in other ways. For instance, your inbox count will gradually build up, making its indicator misleading and essentially worthless. However, you can filter your inbox to display all of your unread messages first, so that you can go through each message and read or delete as desired.

Log in to your Yahoo Mail account and click "Inbox" in the left column to view your inbox.

Select the "Sort By" drop-down menu above your messages. Options appear below.

Select "Unread." Your messages refresh with all of your unread messages appearing first.

Tips

If you are using the classic version of Yahoo Mail, view your inbox and then click "Unread" above the messages.

To delete unread messages in bulk, click the check box next to "Sort By" and then click "Delete."
