The Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) enables the operating system (such as Microsoft Windows 7) to communicate with and control the power management features of hardware components on a computer. ACPI issues can create serious usability problems such a failure to wake from “Sleep” mode when the mouse or keyboard is used. Update the ACPI drivers on an Asus computer or motherboard to resolve power management related issues.

Click the “Start” button and click the “Search” box.

Type “mmc devmgmt.msc” (without quotes) and tap the “Enter” key. The “Device Management” window will appear.

Find the “ACPI” device or devices in the device list located in the left pane of the “Device Management” window. “ACPI” devices can usually be found under the “System Devices” header.

Right-click on each “ACPI” device and click “Update Driver Software” in the window that appears. Reboot the computer for the update to take effect.
