How to Unfilter a YouTube Search
By Kefa Olang
The Safety Mode feature on the YouTube network allows you to filter videos containing mature content you may find offensive. However, for business owners, disabling the YouTube filter to enable mature results also can be beneficial if there are videos you want to watch and they in some way relate to your business. Also, some videos are blocked because of the safety feature, which uses community flagging and image detection to hide certain results. Turning off Safety Mode allows those videos to show up in searches.
Scroll down to the bottom of the YouTube page and click the "Safety" drop-down menu.
Click the "Off" option to unfilter YouTube searches. Selecting this option allows videos with inappropriate content to appear on your YouTube search results. Click the "Lock safety mode on this browser" option if you're signed into your YouTube account. This option only appears when you're signed into the account.
Click the "Save" button to confirm your selection.
Tips
You don't have to be logged in to a YouTube account to disable the Safety Mode. However, you must be signed in to the account to lock the changes for a specific browser.
