Upgrading or replacing the office printer can be a hassle, especially if you’ve forgotten to remove the old printer from the workstation’s list of installed devices, as any print jobs sent to the old printer will remain in limbo without any place to go. If you’ve accidentally sent a print job to a non-existing printer, you can pause any active print jobs on the old printer queue and transfer that to the new printer.

Click "Start" and select “Devices and Printers.”

Open the printer with the active print jobs.

Click the “Printer” menu and select “Pause Printing” if the printer queue hasn’t already been paused.

Right-click within the printer window and select “Properties” from the contextual menu.

Click the “Ports” tab.

Click the port with the printer you wish to transfer the queue to and click the “OK” button to confirm. The print jobs transfer to the second printer.
