Craigslist is a site where you can both advertise your services and look for new employees. People search the ads using keywords, and the more keywords your post has, the better the chance it will show up on Craigslist searches. Tags are a way to include keywords in your post that don't appear otherwise in the actual listing. There is no built-in way to include tags on Craigslist, but you can add your own tags to the end of the posting.

Log in to your Craigslist account.

Click on the "New Posting" tab and select the location you want to post your ad in from the drop-down menu. Click "Go."

Select the type of ad you're planning to post and click "Continue." Agree to the guidelines, then select the category of ad.

Post the ad title, the location and the text of the ad in the text boxes. At the end of your ad type "Tags:" and write the words you want to use as tags after the colon, with a comma between each separate tag. (Tags do not need to be in quotes.)

Click "Continue" and follow the prompts to post. When people search by a keyword that's included in your tags, your ad will appear in the results.

Use targeted tags to get the best results from your ad. Brainstorm synonyms for important words in your posting and include them in tags.
