How to Require Shipping Address on PayPal
By Brandy Alexander
When a customer uses PayPal to purchase your goods or services, you have the option to require a shipping address before the purchase is complete. This feature helps save time for your business because you don't have to spend extra effort requesting this information from the buyer if he forgets to include it. You can create this shipping address setting when you make a button, such as "Add to Cart" or "Subscribe," in your PayPal account.
Log in to your PayPal account, click the "Merchant Services" tab and then click the "Create Payment Buttons for Your Website" link. This action brings you to the setup page where you can create payment buttons for your customers.
Click the "Create a Button" button and then select a button type, such as "Buy Now," in the drop-down menu.
Fill in the required information under the Step 1 heading to submit details such as your item name and price. You also have the option to enter data under the Step 2 heading to specify tracking preferences including inventory, profit and losses.
Click the "Step 3: Customize Advanced Features (Optional)" heading to expand this section, and then click "Yes" next to the "Do You Need Your Customer's Shipping Address?" prompt. This action creates the setting that requires your buyers to enter a shipping address when they click your payment button.
Click the "Create Button" button and then copy the code that displays under the Website or Email tab. Paste this code in a Web page or email to display it.
