By Tricia Goss
Excel is a powerful application for presenting data, as it offers tools and features that allow you to format and display numbers and text precisely the way you want. If you have a column listing numbers, you can use Excel's sorting feature to place them in numerical order almost instantly. You can use the feature to sort an entire table based on a numerical column, as well.
Click on any cell in the column you want to sort.
Select the "Data" tab.
Click the "AZ" button in the Sort group to put numbers in order from smallest to largest or click "ZA" to order them from largest to smallest.
