How to Obtain Past Conversations of Facebook Messenger
By Aaron Wein
As you send instant chats or private message back and forth with people on Facebook, the social networking website automatically saves and stores every word. This allows you to go back to your inbox at a later date and obtain past conversations between clients, business partners or anyone else. Learning to navigate your Facebook inbox allows you to view the full history from your instant chats and private messages.
Sign in to your Facebook account and choose the "Messages" icon (resembling dialogue bubbles) to view a drop-down list of recent messages.
Select "See All" to view your inbox.
Choose a conversation from the left-hand pane that you want to read. The entire conversation opens, displaying your newest instant chats and private messages first.
Scroll upward to view older instant chats or private messages in the conversation until you find your desired item.
View private messages on your business page by selecting "See All" in the Messages section of your page.
View your archived instant chats or private messages by selecting "More" from the Messages page and choosing "Archived."
Selecting "Other" on your Messages page displays private messages filtered out of your inbox. Depending on your settings, these can be spam messages or messages from groups, events or pages.
If you are using the Facebook desktop messaging client, select the "Messages" icon (resembling dialogue boxes) and choose "See All" to view past conversations.
