How to Narrow Down a Search on Facebook
By Jason Spidle
Facebook people search is a useful tool for finding past classmates, former colleagues or acquaintances made at business meetings, conferences or other events. You will quickly find when using Facebook search that most names, particularly if the last name is common, will produce dozens of search results. In order to more quickly find the person you seek, you can use search filters that will narrow your results by location, educational background or employment.
Navigate to Facebook and sign in to your account.
Enter the name of the person for whom you are searching in the search box and then select "See More Results" to access search filters.
Click "People" in the "Search Filters" sidebar.
Select "Location," "Education" or "Workplace" from the search filters drop-down menu and enter terms that will narrow your search results. You can apply as many filters as you need to focus in on the person you are trying to find. The search results will automatically be updated as you add filters.
