PayPal allows you to create invoices that your clients then receive via email, with an option to pay their bill immediately by clicking the “Pay now” button embedded in the email, which takes them to PayPal's website where they can settle their account with a credit card or bank account. PayPal then automatically marks their bill as paid. However, if a client uses a method other than PayPal to pay his bill, you need to manually change the status of the invoice from unpaid to paid.

Log in to your PayPal account, and then click the ”Request Money” tab on the menu.

Click the “Manage Invoices” subtab and select your invoice.

Go to the “Actions” column and click “Mark as paid” to open a dialog box that displays the invoice number, date and amount.
