How to Make a PayPal Shipping Label Smaller

PayPal's shipping label creation and printing service can be a big time saver for businesses that accept PayPal as a payment method. Every payment you receive for items through PayPal gives you the option to create a label and print it directly from your Web browser. If the default print settings for your browser lead to your shipping labels being too large for the packaging, however, creating smaller type is simply a matter of adjusting your browser settings.

Log in to your PayPal account and click the "Print shipping label" button next to the payment you received that you'd like to create a shipping label for. If the payment isn't listed on your Account Overview page, click the "History" tab to find it.

Enter your shipment details and follow the onscreen prompts until you reach the confirmation page (after purchasing the label). Click the "Print" button to open a pop-up box with the printer settings; adjust the scaling of the page as desired here. Note that the name of the page scaling option in the pop-up box may vary depending on your browser, but it shouldn't be hard to identify as it will show a scaling size or percentage -- for example, "100%" or "Shrink to fit." The default is generally "Shrink to Fit," meaning to best fit within your paper size. For smaller labels, select a percentage size lower than 100.

Click the "Print" button to print your label. If you use Firefox or Internet Explorer, you can click the "Print Preview" button in the File menu (which may be embedded within the Print option) rather than clicking the "Print" button. Use the drop-down menu in the Scale section of the menu bar to adjust the print size. The window will then adjust to show how much space the label will take up on the printed page. Raise or lower the percentage until the label takes up the approximate size you wish it to print at, and then select "Print."
