A whiteboard's bright, uniform color provides a crisp surface you can use in conjunction with a projector so that your audience sees your laptop's projected image clearly and easily. Doing so also allows you to draw annotations on the whiteboard using markers, making this a useful tool for business meetings and brainstorming. Project your laptop's screen onto a whiteboard using a digital projector.

Place a digital projector onto a stand so that it faces your whiteboard.

Plug the projector into a power outlet, then turn it on. A default screen is projected onto the board.

Reposition the projector until the projected image fills the whiteboard. Twist the projector's focusing ring or use its focus controls to bring the projected image into focus.

Place the laptop near the projector; make sure the laptop is turned off.

Connect the projector's "Video Out" video cable to your laptop's compatible video port. For example, if your laptop has an HDMI port and the projector has an HDMI-Out port, connect the two devices together via those ports using an HDMI cable.

Turn on the laptop. Once it boots, the projector is detected automatically and a projected image of your laptop's screen appears on the whiteboard. If there's no image, proceed to the next step.

Press the "Video Output" key combination on your laptop until its screen appears on the whiteboard via the projector if the image isn't displayed automatically. This key combination varies from laptop to laptop, but is often one of the "F" keys used in conjunction with the "Fn" key. For example, to toggle the video output on a Dell Vostro laptop, press and hold the "Fn" key, then press the "F8" key repeatedly until the laptop is projected via the projector. Consult with your laptop's manual if you cannot find the video output key.
