Whether you're hiring staff or looking for a new career challenge, adding professional and business contacts to your LinkedIn network can help you promote yourself and your organization. One way to increase the number of connections in your LinkedIn network is to publicize your profile as widely as possible. Including a hyperlink to your LinkedIn profile in the signature block section of Microsoft Outlook email messages will promote your profile and encourage email recipients to add you to their LinkedIn networks. Add a LinkedIn hyperlink to outgoing Outlook email messages by copying your LinkedIn public profile URL address and configuring the Signature settings in Outlook.

Sign in to the LinkedIn network.

Point to the "Profile" tab in the main LinkedIn menu bar.

Scroll to the "Public Profile" section on your LinkedIn Profile page. Highlight and copy the public profile URL address.

Launch Microsoft Outlook. Open a new email message.

Click the "Message" tab in the email message's menu ribbon. Click the "Signature" button in the "Include" group.

Click the "New" button to create a new signature. Type a name for the signature into the "New Signature" field, and then click "OK." Skip this step if you already have a signature you want to use.

Type your signature details -- for example, your name, job title and contact information -- into the Edit Signature box.

Click the "Insert Hyperlink" button. Paste the LinkedIn public profile URL into the "Address" field and the display text for the link in the "Text to Display" field. Click the "OK" button.

Select the email account to which you want to add the signature from the "Choose Default Signature" drop-down list. Select the name of the saved signature in the "New Messages" and "Replies/Forwards" drop-down lists to include the signature in all sent emails.

Click the "OK" button to save and implement the changes. Outlook will now include the LinkedIn link in the signature on all outgoing email messages.

If you don't want to include a signature in all emails, select the "None" option in the New Messages and Replies/Forwards menu. Instead, manually add the signature with the LinkedIn profile link to selected email messages by clicking the "Signature" button in the email message menu ribbon and selecting the signature from the drop-down list.
