Facebook gives your small business the tools to reach countless new customers. By actively posting, sharing and commenting across Facebook, you build a rapport that keeps people interested in your company. Hyperlinking is vital to parlay this virtual goodwill into sales or to share information with your Facebook friends. With Facebook’s built-in tools, you can direct Facebook users to other sites, including company websites, product pages and relevant online articles. The hyperlinking process is mostly automated, letting you extend your online reach in less than a minute.

Open your Web browser and visit the website to which you want to link.

Click and drag your cursor over the website’s full URL, including “http://” at the beginning, highlighting the text.

Press “Ctrl-C” to copy the URL.

Log in to your Facebook account and go to your business page.

Click on the “What’s on your mind?” box.

Press “Ctrl-V” to paste the copied URL. Facebook automatically recognizes the anything starting with “http://” as a Web link. A preview pane appears below your post, showing details about the link.

Type out any additional information you want to share with the link. You may also post the link without any supporting text if you prefer. After the preview appears, you can erase the URL you pasted into the text area.

Click “Post” when you are ready. The website hyperlink appears on your Facebook Timeline immediately and on the news feeds of the page's followers, where they can see the link and click it, comment on it or share it.
