Music in the workplace may relax employees or set the mood for customers. Your iHome device can pipe music into your business with more powerful speakers than those in the iPad. Use your iPad to stream music from iTunes or stream radio through iPad apps, and use iHome to amplify that sound. The iHome device uses both a dock connection and Wi-Fi to connect to your iPad.

Plug in the iHome device and press the "Power" button for three seconds to turn the unit on.

Plug the sync cable into the iPad and enable Wi-Fi. If you want to use Ethernet instead, plug the cable into the back of the iHome unit.

Tap "App Store" on the iPad and search for "iHome Connect." Download and install the application, then touch the app to open it.

Name your iHome speaker on the main page of the app.

Tap the "AirPlay" icon, which has the appearance of a square with a pyramid at the bottom. Select the speaker you named from the list.

Press "Play."

A green indicator lights up when your iPad is connected to the iHome.

If the speaker doesn't show up on the iPad, restart the iPad.

On some models, you can plug the iPad directly into a dock on the iHome device.
