How to Hook Up a Projector to a Laptop via USB

When you want to give an effective presentation at your next business meeting, a projector can really come in handy. By using a laptop and a relatively small projector you can even take these presentations on the go. While many projectors connect to your computer using a "VGA" cable, there are a few out there that can connect to your computer using a USB cable. Hooking your projector to your laptop in this manner is simple.

Turn on the projector and open the laptop so that the laptop powers on.

Plug one end of the USB cable into the projector's USB port.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into any working USB port on your laptop.

Click "Agree" or "OK" if you see a dialog box appear on your laptop's screen. The first time you connect the projector to your laptop, your computer will want to install drivers that allow the two devices to communicate with one another. After the first time, you should not see this dialog box again.
