When Bing shows up as the default home page and search engine in your Mozilla Firefox browser, the most likely cause is a Bing extension that's been added to your browser. If you prefer to use a different home page and search engine while you work, you can get rid of Bing by removing the extension from Firefox. You'll also have to manually reset your home page and search engine preferences.

Click the "Firefox" button and select "Add-ons."

Select the "Extensions" tab on the left side of the page.

Locate entries that include "Bing Search," Bing Bar," "Search Helper" or anything with "Bing" in the name. Click the "Remove" button next to each entry. If the "Remove" button is disabled, press the "Disable" button instead. Restart Firefox when done.

Home Page

Click the "Firefox" button, and then select "Options" from the menu.

Select the "General" tab, and change the "Home Page" setting to the URL of your preferred home page.

Click "OK" to save the change.

Search Bar

Click the downward pointing arrow on the search bar just to the right of the address bar.

Select "Manage Search Engines" from the drop-down list.

Select "Bing" from the search engine list, and then click the "Remove" button. Click "OK" when done.
