How to Get My ViewSonic Projector to Work on My Mac
By Bennett Gavrish
ViewSonic is a manufacturer of video projectors that are compatible with both Windows and Mac-based computers. If you are making a presentation using a ViewSonic projector, you can connect it to your Mac laptop and then display images, videos, or PowerPoint slides. Since Apple laptops do not have VGA ports, you will need to use the appropriate Mac display adapter.
Plug the small end of the Mac display adapter into the video port on your Mac laptop.
Connect the other end of the Mac display adapter to the VGA cable.
Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the COMPUTER IN 1 port on the back of the projector.
Press the power button on the top of the projector.
Click on the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of your laptop's screen and choose "System Preferences."
Go to the "Display" control panel and click "Detect Displays" to get your laptop to recognize the external projector.
Items you will need
Mac laptop running OS X 10.6 or later
ViewSonic projector
Mac display adapter
VGA cable
Tips
If the picture does not display, try restarting both the computer and the projector. You can also try using a different VGA cable to make sure the problem is not simply a faulty cable.
