How to Flag and Delete Craigslist Ads

Suppose you discover a Craigslist ad that makes deceptive advertising claims, or one that makes libelous accusations against you. Maybe a company is over-posting ads, or perhaps the advertisement is for a non-local business. These are all valid reasons for flagging and removing a Craigslist ad. Anybody can flag an ad, but multiple flags (of an undisclosed number) are required to actually delete an ad on Craigslist, so you will need help from others to complete this task.

Open the Craigslist ad that you wish to flag.

Click “?” after “please flag with care,” to determine how the ad is in violation of the Craigslist terms of use.

Click one of the links that says “miscategorized,” “prohibited” or “spam/overpost.”

Encourage other Craigslist users you know to also flag the ad, until it disappears from the Craigslist postings.
