How to Find MS Outlook Express for My Computer

By Bonnie Conrad

If you are looking for a fast and easy way to send and receive email, keep your calendar up to date and create a personal to-do list, Microsoft Outlook Express can be an excellent choice. This lightweight version of the popular Microsoft Outlook program is easy to learn and use.

Click the "Start" button and choose "All Programs" from the menu. Look for "Outlook Express" on the menu. If you find Outlook Express on the menu, open it up, use the simple startup wizard and begin using the program. If you do not see Outlook Express listed in the list of programs you will need to search your computer for it.

Click the "Start" button and choose "Search" from the menu. Double-click the "All Files and Folders" option and verify that the "C" drive is selected in the "Look In" box. Type "Outlook" in the top box and click "Search." Your computer will automatically start searching your hard drive for Outlook and Outlook Express.

Look for "Outlook Express" in the search results. If you do not see "Outlook Express" listed and your computer has two hard drives, repeat the search step by changing the "Look In" option to the secondary hard drive.

Go to the Microsoft download center and look for the Outlook Express program. Download the program and install it according to the instructions provided on the site.

Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Live Mail in Windows Vista and 7 (see Resources).
