How to Fill a Kodak Ink Cartridge Number 10
By James Werning
As a thrifty business owner, instead of buying new ink cartridges whenever your printer runs out of ink, you can save a bundle over time by refilling your printer's Kodak 10b black and 10c color ink cartridges. All you need are a few common household items, a refill kit and a few minutes of your time.
Black Kodak 10b Ink Cartridge
Remove the 10b ink cartridge from the printer and place it on a plastic sheet or tray to catch spilled ink. Peel back the edge of the cartridge label with a razor blade until the top hole is exposed.
Fill a syringe with 10cc of black ink from the refill kit. Insert the needle into the hole in the cartridge and slowly dispense ink until the syringe is empty, or until ink starts to bubble out the top hole.
Remove the needle and wipe the top of the cartridge with a rag. Replace the top label.
Gently dab the bottom of the Kodak 10b cartridge on a rag to remove excess ink. Replace the cartridge in the printer and print a test page.
Empty the syringe into the black ink bottle, if any ink remains. Remove the plunger from the syringe and wash the syringe assembly in water. Dry the syringe assembly with a rag and reassemble the syringe.
Color Kodak 10c Ink Cartridge
Remove the 10c ink cartridge from the printer and place it on a plastic sheet or tray. Peel back the edge of the cartridge label with a razor blade until the top holes are exposed.
Insert a toothpick about an inch into one of the top holes. Remove the toothpick, noting the color of ink in that cell.
Fill a syringe with 5cc of the appropriately colored ink from the refill kit. Insert the needle into the hole in the cartridge and slowly dispense ink until the syringe is empty, or until ink starts to bubble out the top hole.
Remove the needle and wipe the top of the cartridge with a rag. Empty the syringe into the appropriate ink bottle, if any ink remains. Remove the plunger from the syringe and wash the syringe assembly in water. Dry with a rag and reassemble the syringe.
Repeat the previous three steps, using a toothpick to identify the color of ink in each cell.
Replace the top label. Gently dab the bottom of the Kodak 10c cartridge on a rag to remove excess ink. Replace the cartridge in the printer and print a test page.

Tips
The Kodak cartridge number 10xl is identical to the black 10b cartridge, only larger. Fill this cartridge until black ink starts to bubble out of the top hole.
Online sources give conflicting information about the location of the black, cyan, magenta, glossy and yellow ink in the 10c cartridge, so make sure to test the cells in your cartridge with toothpicks to identify the proper colors.
Kodak number 10 print cartridges are used in the following Kodak printers: Easyshare 5000 series, ESP 3, ESP 5, ESP 7, ESP 9, ESP 3200 series, ESP 5200 series, ESP 7200 series, ESP 9200 series, ESP Office 6100 Series, Hero 7.1, Hero 9.1 and Hero Office 6.1 AiO printers.
