How to Display a Dell Vostro Screen on a Projector
By Solomon Poretsky
Dell's Vostro line of notebook computers are aimed at small business users and come in a range of configurations and capabilities. With a High-Definition Multimedia Interface port, or HDMI, you can connect a Vostro to a projector with an HDMI cable that carries both video and audio. This reduces the amount of additional weight that a harried businessman needs to carry on the road so that he can make presentations.
Connect an HDMI cable to the Vostro's HDMI port. The cable will only be able to connect the correct way, so do not force it.
Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into your projector's HDMI input.
Press your projector's "Power" button and allow it to warm up. When the bulb starts to shine, it is ready to use.
Select your projector's HDMI input by pressing its "HDMI" button or stepping through its inputs by pressing the "Input" or "Source" button. You can use your projector's top panel controls or its remote control.
Press the "F1" key while holding down the "Fn" key on your Vostro's keyboard. This will turn on the HDMI output.
