How to Disable the Viewing Pane in Yahoo Mail
By Kevin Lee
Similar to the preview window that you find in email programs such as Microsoft Outlook, the Yahoo Mail reading pane, also called the preview pane, helps you review email messages quickly. Simply click a message header in your inbox, and the message's content appears in the same window that displays the header. While some people find this convenient, you may want to disable the reading pane so that you can view your messages in a separate window. You can do that by disabling Yahoo Mail’s reading pane.
Sign into your Yahoo Mail account.
Click the "Actions" menu to view a list of options.
Click the "No Preview Pane" option to disable the Preview Pane.
Tips
After you click “No Preview Pane,” Yahoo Mail places a check mark next to that menu option. After you disable the pane, you must return to your inbox after reading an email message and click another message to view it.
Enable the reading pane by clicking “Actions” and clicking “Preview Pane on the Bottom” or “Preview Pane on the Right” to make the pane appear in one of those locations whenever you click an email header.
