How to Disable Messages on Facebook
By Joshua Phillips
Facebook gives customers and fans multiple ways to interact with your business through your Facebook page. One such way is by sending you a private message directly from your page. This allows a reader to directly contact you in private, without needing to post any information where other users can read it. However, some businesses prefer to disable these messages. For example, your Facebook page may only be for promotion and is not for answering customer's questions. You can disable the ability for Facebook users to send you messages by removing the Facebook message button from your page.
Click "Edit Page."
Select "Manage Permissions" from the drop-down menu.
Uncheck the box in the "Messages" section.
Click "Save Changes."
You can re-enable the ability to send messages by repeating these steps and checking the box in the "Messages" section, then clicking "Save Changes."
