How to Delete the Yahoo! Toolbar on My Homepage
By Christina Shaffer
The Yahoo! Toolbar a popular add-on for web browsers, including Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. The toolbar appears over your homepage and every other web page, providing quick-access buttons that allow you to check your Yahoo! Mail account, view local weather statistics and information, access a Facebook account and bookmark favorite websites in seconds. Whether you’re unsatisfied with the toolbar or accidentally downloaded it with a separate program, you can remove the add-on from your preferred web browser by following a few simple steps.
Internet Explorer
Close Internet Explorer if it is open. Click the “Start” button at the lower left corner of your computer screen, and then select “Control Panel” to open this window.
Click the “Uninstall a program” link, which is located in the Programs section of the Control Panel. You will see an alphabetical list of your installed applications.
Scroll to the “Yahoo! Toolbar” option and select the program's name.
Click the “Uninstall” button, which is located at the top of the screen. Windows will remove the toolbar from your computer.
Restart Internet Explorer to apply the new changes.
Mozilla Firefox
Launch Mozilla Firefox.
Click the “Tools” tab in the browser's toolbar and select the “Add-ons” option. The “Add-ons” window will appear on your screen.
Scroll through the list of installed add-ons and highlight the “Yahoo! Toolbar” option.
Click the “Uninstall” button. You will be asked to confirm the removal process. Click “OK” to uninstall the toolbar.
