How to Delete Citrix Printer Sessions

By Ruri Ranbe

If a local or network printer is installed to a client workstation at your office, Citrix autocreates the device when a user logs on to a session. Citrix automatically deletes these printer objects at logoff, but if there are active print jobs when a session is disconnected, the spooler may freeze. However, you can configure Registry Editor to purge print jobs and prevent the retention of printers.

Click "Start," then "Run." Type "regedit.exe" into the dialog box, and then press "Enter" to open Registry Edtior.

Navigate through "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | CurrentControlSet | Control | Citrix | ClientPrinterProperties."

Double-click "fPurgeAnyWay" from the right pane. Set the value to "1", and then click "OK."

Double-click "fNotInheritKeepPrintedJobs", and then set the value to "1." Click "OK" to delete autocreated printers and print jobs at logoff.
