How to Delete a Sent Request on Facebook

By Shawn Farner

Facebook Friend Requests help you get in touch with business acquaintances and colleagues. Profile photos don't always provide a clear look at a user though, so you might accidentally send a friend request to someone with the same name as the person you intend to add or you may rethink whether you want someone as a member of your business's social network. In cases like these, you can delete the request, which removes it from the person's friend request queue.

Sign in to your account on the Facebook website.

Type the user's name into the search box at the top of the page, and then click on his name in the results to visit his Facebook profile page.

Hover over the "Friend Request Sent" button at the top of the screen, and click the "Cancel Request" option.

Click the "Confirm" button to confirm that you want to remove this friend request.
