How to Delete a Facebook Account and Get Rid of Previous Posts?

By Kirk Bennet

Facebook enables you to create a page for your business for free and advertise your products, services and expertise to millions of Facebook users. If you're concerned with your privacy or if you think your competition can use your Facebook account and your previous posts, you can quickly delete the Facebook account. When you delete an account, you also remove all data, including previous posts. Your business page will also be deleted.

Navigate to the Facebook Delete Account page (link in Resources) and log in to your Facebook account.

Click the "Delete My Account" button to open the Permanently Delete Account window.

Type your password in the "Password" field and type the verification code in the "Text In The Box" field.

Click "Okay" to delete your Facebook account permanently.

You can cancel the deletion if you log in to your Facebook account in the next 14 days. Just click the "Cancel Deletion" button when you log in to cancel the deletion and then click the "Reactivate Account" button to reactivate the account.

If you delete your account, you won't be able to reactivate it later or retrieve any data.
