How to Contact People on Twitter
By KR Knowlin
Twitter's Direct Message feature lets you contact any of your followers or people you are following via a personal message. This feature is useful if you want to contact someone privately instead of through a public exchange of Tweets. The Twitter message center also stores messages you receive from friends. This allows you to keep track of the messages you send and receive all of them in one convenient location.
Sign in to your Twitter account to access your homepage.
Click the "Messages" tab at the top of the page. The Message page loads.
Click the "New Message" button. A message prompt opens.
Type the name of the person in the search bar at the top of the message prompt. Twitter displays suggestions as you type. Select the person from the list of suggestions.
Create a message in the body of the message prompt.
Click the "Send" button to send the message.
