How to Block PayPal Debits
By Adrian Grahams
The PayPal online electronic payment service includes subscription, automatic billing and recurring payment features that enable merchants to debit your account with a fixed or variable amount at regular intervals. If your company no longer requires the goods or services paid for via the PayPal subscription, you can cancel the agreement and block the merchant from debiting your account by going to the preapproved payments section of your PayPal account.
Sign in to your PayPal account.
Click the "Profile" tab.
Click the "My Money" tab.
Click the "Update" link in the "My preapproved payments" section.
Scroll through the list of subscriptions and recurring payments.
Click on the name of the merchant with the subscription or recurring payment debit that you want to cancel.
Click the "Cancel," "Cancel subscription" or "Cancel automatic billing" link.
Click the "Yes" button in the Cancel Confirmation pop-up window. PayPal will cancel the agreement and block future debits from the merchant.
If you cancel a subscription, billing agreement or recurring payment, you will need to set up a new agreement to make authorized or recurring payments to the merchant in the future.
