How to Block Email Addresses in AOL

By Lori Kaufman

Spam poses a threat to all businesses, including yours. If you use an email address to keep in touch with your employees and provide technical support to your clients, a deluge of spam emails may prevent you from seeing important emails in time. There is, however, an easy way to get rid of known spammers in AOL; all you have to do to prevent a person from sending you emails is to block his or her email address.

Log in to your AOL account. Click the "Options" link and choose "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

Click "Spam Settings" in the navigation bar at the left and locate the Sender Filter section in the right pane.

Select "Block mail from addresses I specify" in the drop-down box, enter the username or email address of the person that you want to block in the "Enter username or email address" field and click the "+" button to block the email address.

Click the "Save Settings" button to save the new settings and then click the "Back to Mail" button to return to your Inbox.

You can unblock email addresses by hovering the cursor over the blocked address and clicking the "X" icon.

You can't receive any emails from blocked email addresses, so make sure you don't block legitimate addresses.
