IPads offer great opportunities for sharing your experiences with others using apps like Twitter and Facebook as well as built-in features such as photos and videos. With the iPad's Mail app, you can easily share photos and videos with others using the app's built-in attachments feature. However, you may want to attach a document related to your business, such as information for a business meeting you've written in the Notes app or a flyer you created in Pages. Attaching a document isn't possible directly within Mail, but the "Share" feature is available in nearly all document apps. With this feature, you can attach documents to emails and then send them just as you would any message.

Open the document that you want to email using its default app. Common choices include Notes, Pages and iA Writer, but any word processing app you use likely has a Share option.

Tap the "Share" button. Typically, this arrow-shaped icon is located either at the top or bottom of the screen.

Tap "Email." An email opens in the Mail app with the document attached. Type in the recipient's name, the subject and the body of the email. Tap "Send."

Warnings

Your service provider may limit the size of attachments that you can send if you have a 3G or 4G plan. Normally this isn't an issue with documents, since those files tend to be comparatively small, but if you're sending a document with media files embedded, it could be a large file that cannot be sent or could result in additional charges to your account with your service provider. If you choose to send large attachments over a Wi-Fi connection, though, you won't be limited by size or incur additional service provider fees.
