How Do You Report Email Scams to the FTC?
By Margaret Worthington
Email scams can come in many forms and from many different places on the Internet. If you have received a scam email or are the victim of an email scam, you can report this scam to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by forwarding the email to a special email address they have set up.
Open the email scam you have received in your email client and press the "Forward" button.
Enter the address "[email protected]" into the "To:" field.
Enter any information above the body of the email scam that you feel will be helpful to the FTC in tracking down the people who sent the scam email to you.
Click the "Send" button.
