How Can I Reboot My Dell PC With a Disc?
By Ruri Ranbe
Modern Dell PCs can boot from several different devices, including hard drives, disc drives and USB drives. To install a new operating system, run cloning software or load a backup disc, you must boot from the CD or DVD drive. To reboot a Dell PC and load the content stored to a CD or DVD, set the computer's boot options immediately after restarting the computer.
Insert the disc into the optical drive. Reboot the Dell PC.
Press "F12" when the Dell logo appears onscreen to open the "Boot Options" menu.
Use the directional pad to highlight "CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive." Press "Enter."
Press "Enter" when the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." appears onscreen to boot the disc.
