How to Hook Up Blu-ray & DirecTV

Despite the advanced technology behind your HDTV and other equipment, the connection process for the various devices in your home theater setup is straightforward. Install your Blu Ray player and your DirecTV receiver to begin enjoying your the titles in your video library and your satellite TV service. Use the HDMI interface when available to ensure you are getting the best-quality picture and sound from your equipment.
Find the input panel on the rear of your TV, and locate the HDMI inputs. HDMI ports are thin and rectangular in shape.
Plug one side of the first HDMI cable into the first "HDMI" port on the rear of your TV, and plug the other side of the cable into the "HDMI OUT" port on the rear of your DirecTV receiver.
Insert the other side of the HDMI cable into the second "HDMI" port on the rear of the TV, and plug the opposite side of the cable into the "HDMI OUT" port on the rear of the Blu-Ray player.

Tips
- If your TV does not feature multiple HDMI ports, use a set of Component cables to connect the DirecTV receiver to your TV. Plug one end of the cables into the "Component OUT" ports on the receiver, and insert the other end into the "Component IN" ports on the TV.
