How to Hook the Intellivision to a TV (3 Steps)
By Ryan Maxwell
Long before gaming systems such as the Microsoft Xbox series and the PlayStation series were even thought possible, there was a 16-bit gaming system known as the Mattel Intellivision. In 1979, Mattel Electronics released the original Intellivision to compete with the Atari 2600 gaming system. Although current cellphones have processors more than a thousand times faster than the original Intellivision system, if you are feeling nostalgic about the good old days or you want to see what one of the first home game systems looks like, you can still connect your Intellivision to your current TV.
Step 1
Connect the adapter to the RCA cable on the Intellivision.
Step 2
Connect the other end of the adapter to the coaxial port in the back of your TV.
Step 3
Plug in the Intellivision.

Tips
- If you only have one coaxial port on the back of your TV, a device known as a coaxial switchbox will allow you to connect multiple coaxial cables to a single coaxial port.
