How to Hide Video Ratings in YouTube
By Joshua Phillips
YouTube bases a video's popularity on two factors: the number of views a video receives and its rating, a system that allows users to like or dislike a video. However, you may find your video receiving many dislikes for reasons you do not necessarily agree with; when this occurs, you can disable, or hide, the ratings displayed on your video's page. This not only removes the current rating of the video but also removes the ability for anyone to rate your video.
Navigate to the YouTube website and sign in to your account.
Click your user name then "Video Manager" from the drop-down menu.
Click "Edit" next to the video from which you want to remove ratings.
Click the "Advanced Settings" tab.
Uncheck the box next to "Users can view ratings for this video."
Click "Save Changes" to immediately remove both the ratings and the ability for users to rate your video.
- To re-enable ratings for your video, repeat these steps and recheck the box labeled "Users can rate this video."
