How to Hide & Un-hide Job Skills on "Linkedin"
By Melissa King
Your LinkedIn public profile is the place to show off your job experience, education, skills and career goals. If you don't want to display your skills, keep them hidden by removing the Skills & Expertise section from your profile. You can also hide skill endorsements written by your connections. LinkedIn enables you to hide individual endorsements or turn off all endorsements for the Skills & Expertise section.
Hide and Unhide Skills
Go to LinkedIn, and sign in to your account.
Hover over "Profile" at the top of the page, and then click "Edit Profile."
Click the small "Edit" link below your photo and to the right of your custom LinkedIn profile URL.
Check the box next to "Skills" to display the Skills & Expertise section on your profile. Uncheck the box to hide the section. LinkedIn saves your selection automatically.
Hide and Unhide Skill Endorsements
Sign in to LinkedIn, and click "Edit Profile" under Profile.
Click the pencil icon in the Skills & Expertise section.
Click a skill to see your endorsements for that skill. Check the box next to the endorsements you want to display, and uncheck the endorsements you want to hide. Alternatively, to show or hide all endorsements, click the arrow next to "Display Your Endorsements?" Choose "Yes, show my endorsements" or "No, do not show my endorsements."
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
- To remove a skill from your profile, go to "Edit Profile" and click the pencil icon next to Skills & Expertise. Click the "X" next to a skill to delete it.
