How to Hide Your Number on Verizon
By Maya Walker
Phones that are equipped with caller ID display a caller's name and phone number. As a Verizon customer, you can hide your number so that it does not appear on a phone equipped with caller ID. When you hide your number, "Anonymous" or "Blocked Call" is displayed on the caller ID. A special code can be used to hide your number on a per-call basis. There is no charge for using the code.
Enter "*67" on your Verizon phone's handset.
Enter the 10-digit mobile number of the call recipient.
Press the "Send" key and wait for the party to answer.
Tips
- Permanently block your number by logging into your Verizon online account and clicking the "My Plan" tab. Click "Add/Change Features" and check the Caller ID Blocking box. Click "Next" to review the change and save your settings.
- Contact Verizon's customer service if you are a landline subscriber and need to block your number permanently. There may be a charge for adding caller ID blocking to your phone plan.
