Go into the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) on a Dell Alienware laptop to change various system and hardware settings on your computer. Dell Alienware systems use the BIOS as a middle man between your system’s hardware and your operating system. Without the BIOS, neither your OS or hardware would work. You can access many settings in the BIOS, including the boot order, hard drive settings and system diagnostics.
Restart your Dell Alienware laptop. Click on the start globe in Windows Vista and higher, select the lock button and choose “Restart.”
Press the “Delete” key on your Alienware keyboard repeatedly as soon as the splash screen appears. If you have an Intel-based system, press "F2" instead. Stop once the BIOS menu appears.
Use the left and right arrow keys to navigate between BIOS menu screens.
Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate between BIOS options on individual screens.
Press “F10” to save your settings and exit the BIOS. If you do not want to save your settings, press “Esc” to exit the BIOS. This will restart your Alienware system.
If the BIOS menu doesn’t appear, wait for your system to completely boot as normal and then restart again.
