The Photos app on the standard Facebook site includes a handy feature for flipping pictures clockwise or counterclockwise. You won't see this feature on Facebook's mobile site or Android app, so when uploading your pictures from an Android, you have to rotate portrait photos on your device beforehand. Androids rotate photos using Gallery, the phone's native image viewer. This app also carries out a few other simple functions, such as cropping images and displaying image file data.

Step 1

Tap the "app" icon on your device's home screen, and tap "Gallery" to launch the Gallery app.

Step 2

Navigate to the picture that you want to upload, and tap it to view it.

Step 3

Tap "Menu" and "More," and then tap "Rotate Left" or "Rotate Right" to flip the image.

Step 4

Exit the Gallery app, and launch your phone's Facebook app. Tap the camera icon in the Facebook app's home screen.

Step 5

Tap "Choose from Gallery," and navigate to the flipped photo. Tap the photo and then tap "Upload" to upload it to your Facebook timeline.
