How to Fix a Windows Installer That Keeps Running
By Mikhail Polenin
After you finish installing a program or getting some error while installing one, you exit the Windows Installer service, letting another installer run. Sometimes, the Windows Installer actually does not stop and stays on your computer as a ghost process, not allowing any other program installations to occur. To stop the process, you must search for its process in the Task Manager.
Press "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Esc" on your keyboard to open the Task Manager without any intermediate screen.
Click the "Processes" tab.
Scroll down to "msiexec.exe," right-click it and click "End Process." Try running another installer now.
