How to Fix Sony Bravia Automatic Dimming
By Anthony Oster
The ambient light sensor built into your Sony Bravia TV can automatically adjust the screen brightness and contrast based on the lighting of your room. This feature can be helpful in some situations; however, the ambient light sensor may incorrectly gauge the light in your room and automatically dim the screen, making it difficult to view. Fix an auto-dimmed picture by using your TV's remote to turn off the ambient light sensor.
Step 1
Press the "Menu" button on your remote to load the Sony Bravia system menu.
Step 2
Use the cursor keys to navigate to and select the "Picture Settings" option.
Step 3
Scroll to the "Ambient Sensor" option from the Picture Settings menu and select the "Off" setting.
