How to Fix the Brightness on an Amazon Kindle
By Lynn Burbeck
Adjusting the brightness of your Amazon Kindle screen can make a big difference in your ability to view the screen comfortably, particularly if you're using your device in a low-light area. Fixing the brightness of your screen is easy on the Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Paperwhite, all of which provide screen brightness controls. This feature is not available on the original Kindle, however, as the screen is not backlit.

Step 1
Tap the "Quick Settings" icon in the upper right corner of your Kindle screen. The icon looks like a gear.
Step 2

Step 3
Use your finger to toggle the slider from left to right to increase or decrease the brightness of your screen.
