How to Figure out if Your Laptop Can Burn CDs
By Michael Butler
If your laptop has a CD or DVD drive that does not automatically mean that it has the ability to burn CDs. The optical drive has to have burning hardware to burn discs. Your laptop manual will tell you if your computer can burn CDs. However, if you do not have access to the manual you can find out if your laptop can burn CDs by checking what CD drive you have.
Step 1
Click the Windows "Start" icon.
