How to Get to My FairPoint Email

FairPoint Communications has been around since 1991. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, it offers high speed Internet service, telephone service and television entertainment services to residents and businesses located in 18 different states. When you are subscribed to Internet services, you also receive a complimentary email account. You can access your FairPoint email via an online Webmail portal or from an email client of your choice.
Webmail
Visit the FairPoint Communications "My FairPoint" website.
Click the "Email" link located in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Type your FairPoint email address and password into the designated boxes.
Click the "Log In" button to access your email.
Outlook Express
Open your Outlook Express mail program. To configure other email clients, see link in the "Resources" section.
Click "Tools" from the top navigation bar. Select "Accounts." Click the "Mail" tab. Click the "Add" button. Select "Mail."
Complete the email setup wizard by entering your "@fairpoint.net" email address and password. When prompted for the "Incoming Mail Server," enter "pop3.fairpoint.net." Enter "smtpauth.fairpoint.net " for the "Outgoing SMTP Server." Click "Finish" when the email setup wizard is finished.
Highlight your FairPoint email account in the "Internet Accounts" window. Select "Properties." Click the "Servers" tab. Place a check-mark beside "My Server Requires Authentication." Click the "Settings" button.
Select the option to "Log On Using." Enter your FairPoint email address in the "Username" box. Enter your password. Click "OK" to apply your settings. Click "Close" to close the Internet Accounts window.
To access your FairPoint email, open the Outlook Express program again. Click the "Inbox" to begin reading messages.
