How to Enable a TouchPad Mouse

by Brendan O'Brien

You may come across times when your laptop's TouchPad is disabled. This may be after updating your system or after you lent your computer to another user, who changed your settings. You can easily enable the TouchPad if you prefer to use it over a traditional mouse. It takes about two minutes and calls for you to dig into your computer's settings.

Click "Start."

Select "Control Panel." Click the "Mouse" icon. If you don't see the Mouse icon, select Classic View for the Control Panel.

Click the "Devices" tab in the window that appears. Select the "Enable" button.

Click the "Apply" button and select "OK."
