Netflix requires cookies enabled in Google Chrome and other Web browsers to stream videos to your computer. If you don’t have cookies enabled, Netflix can’t store information on your computer and presents an error message instead of playing videos. If you’ve disabled cookies in Chrome, you can re-enable them to watch Netflix. Websites use cookies to store your login state, preferences and other information on your computer.

Step 1

Click the wrench icon at the top right corner of the Google Chrome window and select “Options” in the menu.

Step 2

Click the “Under the Hood” tab at the left side of the Google Chrome window.

Step 3

Click the “Content Settings” button at the top of the Under the Hood pane.

Step 4

Click the “Allow Local Data to Be Set (Recommended)” option to the right of Cookies.

Step 5

Uncheck the “Clear Cookies and Other Site and Plug-in Data When I Close My Browser” check box by clicking it if it’s checked.

Step 6

Close the Options tab.
